Player Feature – Rhianna Kurio

Rhianna Kurio is currently playing in her third year with the Calgary Inferno and third year in the CWHL. Born and raised Calgarian, she has been a Flames fan her whole life. Prior to playing on the Inferno, Kurio attended Union College where she played on their women’s varsity team for the duration of her time at Union. Kurio graduated with a degree in neuroscience. Before Kurio played varsity hockey she played for the Midget AAA Bow River Bruins. In her 2008-2009 year with the Bruins she was named the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey Association (AMMFHL) Most Sportsmanlike Player.

Most memorable Olympic moment (that you’ve participated in or observed): Watching Women’s Team Canada Gold Medal Game Sochi 2014

Best moment as a player: Winning the Clarkson Cup 2016

Favourite meal: Sushi

Favourite place outside of the rink: Home

A piece of advice you’d give young players: Believe in yourself and have fun

Favourite musician: Rihanna
