Player Feature – Lindsey Post

Originally from Chelsea, Québec, goaltender Lindsey Post is making her CWHL debut with the Inferno.  Post was drafted to the Inferno after playing for the University Alberta Pandas for five years (you can still see remnants of her alma mater with her green goalie pads). Post ended her career at UofA as the Panda’s all-time leader in wins (62), shutouts (31), and minutes played (5,536:45). Post also won her first national championship in March, earning U SPORTS Tournament MVP honours, and the 2017 Bakewell Trophy as the University of Alberta’s Female Athlete of the Year. She’s earned a starting spot for the Inferno on a number of occasions and is a welcome member to the Inferno roster.

Favourite NHL team: Ottawa Senators

Favourite team Canada Player: Meghan Agosta

Favourite Olympic moment I’ve observed: When team USA hit the post on the empty net and Team Canada ended up coming back from the 2-1 deficit to win the game 3-2 in Overtime!

Best moment as a play: Winning the 2017 U Sports National Championship with the University of Alberta Pandas in my graduating year in double overtime.

Favourite meal: Butter Chicken, Rice and Naan

A piece of advice for young players: When something doesn’t go your way take a step back and look at the situation from different perspectives. There is more to learn from failures than successes.

Favourite musician: Kip Moore

Who’s your idol: Erik Karlsson

What’s your dream vacation and who would you take? An all-inclusive trip to anywhere sunny, hot and surrounded by beaches. I would bring my two best friends from university, Hannah and Amy.
