CALGARY, Alta (Dec. 2, 2018) The Calgary Inferno were determined to come out on top after a tough loss Saturday night against the Markham Thunder, losing 3-2 in a shoot out. Sunday’s contest saw a 5-2 win for the home team. Three of the Inferno’s goals came on the powerplay.

“First of all, coming off a huge weekend against Montreal we needed to be prepared and Markham plays really hard and just knowing that being first in the league we have a target on our back,” remarked Zoe Hickel. “We have to meet that resistance with more resistance and keep battling and doing the little things right.”
The third period saw a couple penalties for the Inferno though Markham didn’t add another to the board until two minutes left in the game. Laura Fortino put one past Alex Rigsby with an assist to Brooke Webster. Final shots on goal were 41-30 for the Inferno.
