Calgary Inferno Announce Two New General Managers

Calgary, Alta ??? On September 19 the Canadian Women?۪s Hockey League (CWHL) appointed the team of Jeff Stevenson and Kristen Hagg to lead the management and operations of the Calgary Inferno for the 2016-17 CWHL season. Stevenson will step into the role of General Manager, whilst Hagg will act as the team?۪s Assistant General Manager.

???With so many great opportunities present in the Calgary market, we felt now was the perfect time to introduce a two-person team to, on the back of their Clarkson Cup victory, help strengthen and grow the Inferno brand within the community and with sponsors. Both Jeff and Kristen have a long connection with the Inferno team and will be great assets to the league,?۝ remarked CWHL Commissioner Brenda Andress.

Stevenson, a native of Winnipeg, has been a member of the Inferno media, marketing and operations team since 2013 as well as acting as the team?۪s colour commentator. A passionate volunteer for the Inferno he has led many of the teams branding and marketing efforts and has built strong relationships for the team with the local community.

???2015-16 was an incredible season for the Calgary Inferno with the team enjoying phenomenal success on and off the ice, including the team?۪s first the Clarkson Cup victory," Stevenson said. "I look forward to further guiding the team?۪s growth and continuing to bring an amazing hockey experience to the passionate fans of Calgary.?۝

After winning the Clarkson Cup with the team in the 2015-16 CWHL season, Kristen Hagg will move to the team?۪s front office as the Inferno?۪s Assistant GM. Hagg joined the Inferno in 2014 after taking time away from the game to complete her law degree and start a legal career.

Called to the Alberta Bar in 2013, Hagg is currently an associate with Bryan & Company Calgary LLP. Prior to entering the legal world, Hagg played with the Edmonton Chimos of the WWHL, Salzburg Ravens of the EWHL and spent 5 seasons at the University of Alberta, where she won 4 CIS titles.

The Inferno?۪s previous General Manager, Chantal Champagne stepped down from her role with the team at the end of last season.
